In early June, some of our team members used their volunteer hours to join beach cleanup efforts at Hampton Beach, NH, alongside several other local B Corps and the Blue Ocean Society. Together, they were able to collect over 56lbs of trash from the area. We are so grateful to our collective for continuing to show up and use our volunteer paid time off benefit to give back to their local communities. Thank you MegaFoodies!

In our efforts to create a healthier, safer world for ALL, we are proud to support LGBTQ youth with a $5K donation to Brave Trails, a national non-profit & 1% for the Planet organization dedicated to LGBTQ youth leadership. They offer a range of programs that focus on helping LGBTQ youth find what they need most to thrive: their people, their place, and their passion. Why is their work so important? - 50% of LGBTQ young people who wanted mental health care in the past year were not able to get it. - Nearly half of LGBTQ people ages 13-17 experienced bullying in the past year. - 60% of LGBTQ young people reported that they have felt discriminated against in the past year due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.* Please join us in growing a healthy world for all 🌏– including the LGBTQ community. Share the application link for their upcoming camps with an LGBTQ young person you love or donate to their goal of opening their forever home in California here: https://lnkd.in/eU9imrdf *The Trevor Project's 2024 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ Young People

Today is #WorldOceansDay, a day created to foster public interest in the protection of the ocean and the sustainable management of its resources. Did you know? Each year, 20 million tons of anchovies and other small forage fish are harvested from the sea to be processed into fish oil. By sourcing our fish-free Omega oil directly from algal and Ahiflower sources, we aim to help reduce the demand for fish and combat the detrimental effects of overfishing.

Annually, MegaFood employees get 24 hours of volunteer paid time off because we believe in supporting our local communities. Last week, members of our Marketing team volunteered at The Food Project's Baker Bridge Farm location, where they helped on-site with mulching and planting. The Food Project supports food access initiatives in Boston's Dudley neighborhood. The produce that they grow is distributed at a SNAP/HIP-accessible farmer's market, is donated to several hunger relief organizations and is sold through The Food Project's CSA farm share. So far, MegaFood employees have already volunteered almost 150 hours, with big plans for the rest of the year!
