#ICYMI: While many European destinations are managing overwhelming tourism with restrictions and fees, Copenhagen is leading the way with an innovative approach—rewarding responsible tourist behavior through its new initiative, CopenPay. Beginning July 15, tourists who engage in the city’s green initiatives—such as cycling, train travel, and clean-up efforts—will be granted access to cultural experiences like museum tours, kayak rentals, and free meals. “We must change how we move around the destination, what we consume, and how we interact with the locals,” said Mikkel Aarø-Hansen, CEO of Wonderful Copenhagen.
