It’s back! The annual Tire Buy Back event will be held Sunday, Sept. 22 at our Transfer Station in Moraine. Earn $2 for every scrap tire you bring to the facility. Bring in tires from your neighborhood, streams or even just your garage. We will give them new life by recycling the rubber to use for playground equipment, mulch and other items. This event is open to Montgomery County residents only. Hauling more than 10 tires without a license is a felony. Learn more about the program at https://buff.ly/4crOlSR

Our first Journey to Zero event at the Dayton Dragons was a success! Montgomery County is here for the journey and we are so grateful to our partners at the Dayton Dragons Professional Baseball, The Foodbank, Inc., Rumpke Waste & Recycling, and all of our volunteers. Gamegoers were guided to recycle, compost, or throw items in the trash. One decision today can make a difference in our community for a lifetime. To learn more about our programs, visit www.mcswd.org

We'd like to give a huge shoutout to the staff at Stillwater Center for another successful Nursing Skills Fair! This annual event brings nursing professionals, students and educators together to showcase and practice essential nursing skills. The fair features interactive stations focused on different clinical skills like wound care, medication administration, emergency response techniques and more! These essential skills empower nursing staff to care for nearly 100 residents with severe developmental or intellectual disabilities every day.
