Wow!!! Back at my Alma mater Bentley Accounting Department as part of the MassCPAs Is Accounting for me? Series. Thanks for the invite Zach D. I was able to tell my story and specifically: ⭐️ the value of starting my career in a small firm ⭐️ why accounting is the language of business and a great base for any career ⭐️ diversity of career choice and where you start may not be where you end up ⭐️ earnings potential in real dollars ⭐️ essential skills to be prepared for the profession today which includes knowledge in data analysis ⭐️leadership skills ⭐️ don’t be afraid to use your voice and fight for what is right ⭐️ the most important things to look for for a successful career is find your meaningful work and align your values with the values of the company. ⭐️ the people first culture I created at AAFCPAs I also had the privilege of having lunch with President E. 🚀 Bentley University was buzzing on Friday as 50 future CPAs joined us for the first stop of the "Is Accounting for Me?" Fall tour! The day kicked off with Bentley’s admissions insights, followed by an interactive workshop from Deloitte's James Christenson, CPA, audit and assurance manager, and Jennifer Oberman, CPA, tax manager, who helped students see how their skills connect to a career in accounting.   The big WOW moment? Carla McCall, CPA, CGMA, chair of the AICPA and managing partner at AAFCPAs, shared her career journey, dropping wisdom on finding firms with cultures that fit. ✨ And a powerhouse panel featuring Anthony B., CPA, tax partner at RSM US LLP, Sara Connolly, CPA, senior accounting manager at BJ's Wholesale Club, Victor Wei Liu, analyst at John Hancock Investment Management, Kacie L.
