Dr. Séverine Tasker, Director of Medical Educational Pathways and Veterinary Relations for our international businesses, Dr. Aarti Hogan, Linnaeus Medical Quality Manager, and Lisen Schortz, AniCura Head of Patient Safety, took the stage at the International Society of Feline Medicine's #ISFMCongress24 in Malta to present best practices and novel data on feline patient safety, with a focus on ophthalmology. The engaging discussions that took place during their poster sessions and masterclass, together with the excitement around implementation of strategies in clinical practice, were not only inspiring but also brought us one step closer to achieving our Purpose: #ABetterWorldforPets #patientsafety #veterinarymedicine #vetmed #proudlymars

Last week marked another energizing AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) Convention full of inspiration and new connections. Mars Veterinary Health, including Banfield Pet Hospital, BluePearl Pet Hospital, and VCA Animal Hospitals, were honored to play a role in such an impactful, collaborative industry event. A supportive environment is critical when building a culture of safety in veterinary practice. To help veterinary teams tackle incivility in their clinics, the University of Aberdeen recently released the "Keeping It Civil" guide, including contributions from Mars Veterinary Health's Dr. Rochelle Low and Linnaeus' Dr. Petra Agthe. As our profession knows firsthand, mental health impacts people globally but is particularly felt by those in helping professions. As part of our efforts to support all aspects of Associate health and wellbeing across our practices, we've invested in a growing network of more than 20 in-house licensed social workers who directly support Associates and clients in our clinics. To help shine a light on the growing field of veterinary social work and why it's so important, our mental health and wellbeing lead and licensed clinical social worker Lisa Stewart-Brown shared her perspectives with Social Worker Advocates Magazine.
