In an era of so much information, it's hard to know what's credible and what can be trusted - especially among digital platforms and mobile apps. Soon after starting Marma, we knew we needed an expert on our team to be a partner and stand behind our content. I spoke with several MDs to find the perfect fit, and we couldn't be more excited to announce that Basma Faris, MD, CCMS is joining Marma as our Lead Medical Advisor. Dr. Basma Faris is a board-certified OBGYN and Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist who started her career as a registered dietician. She is the founder of PollyPrep MD, which is an educational program and telemedicine practice for people with PCOS. She is an expert in nutrition for women across the lifespan. She recently assumed the role of Vice Chair of the Advisory Board of the American College of Culinary Medicine. She resides in Brooklyn, NY, with her multigenerational family and dog. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology recently posted that a healthy lifestyle prepregnancy "significantly reduces the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes." This is precisely why we do what we do at Marma - improving the mother's overall health to improve pregnancy and postpartum outcomes. While we launched with pregnancy and postpartum, our health coaches are knowledgeable on fertility, and we'll soon be launching an entire fertility nutrition program. https://lnkd.in/g85Hv_YF
