Marine Safety Consultants is excited to introduce Jonathan Villa as our newest P & I Case Manager. Jonathan served in the United States Army for 4 years of active duty obtaining the position of Team Leader as a Sergeant. He worked as a EMT/ Paramedic and a Paramedic Firefighter for almost 16 years in various cities and towns. During this time Jonathan went back to college and graduated from UMass Dartmouth in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management. Before coming to MSC Jonathan took a position as an Operations Manager where he worked as the Market Manager for the Providence, RI fleet of Spin.  

Marine Safety Consultants is excited to introduce Daniel Barry to our Surveyors Team. Daniel "Bud" Barry graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, his qualifications include a USCG 2nd Mate Unlimited Oceans Unlimited Tonnage license, Mate of towing, and a PIC in Dangerous Liquid Cargos. Transitioning to a shore side role, Bud was as a Lead Marine Coordinator helping to establish the first U.S.-based Offshore Wind Marine Coordination Center for the first major U.S. Offshore Wind project. This center oversaw crucial aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance, emergency response, and the coordination of vessel operations during various construction activities.  

Marine Safety Consultants was recently hired by insurance underwriters to oversee the safe loading of American Magic’s Boat 3 onto a trailer for overland transport to the airport where she was then loaded onto a cargo plane.

Marine Safety Consultants recently completed a Trip and Tow Survey and a Voyage Plan, so the SV MAYFLOWER II can make her annual migration from Mystic, CT back to berth in Plymouth, MA.

Marine Safety Consultants was in Cape May, NJ with Fishing Partnership Support Services assisting with the Fisherman and Drill Conductor Training. There was an exceptional turnout with 66 Commercial Fishermen completing the safety training and 57 were certified to be drill conductors.

Marine Safety Consultants was recently hired to oversee the pollution control and removal of this fishing vessel from the outer beaches of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The vessel was successfully towed from the beach by Tucker-Roy Salvage on the high tide and towed to New Bedford, MA where she was safely hauled.
