Ready To Answer The Call Marine Rotational Force - Southeast Asia (MRF-SEA) is a Marine Corps Forces Pacific construct involving planned exchanges with subject matter experts, promoting shared security goals with Allies and partners, and positions the Marines of I Marine Expeditionary Force west of the international date line. Much like the Unit Deployment Program or Marine Expeditionary Unit deployments that leverage purpose-built units, MRF-SEA maintains a forward presence and enhances Marine Corps crisis and contingency response capabilities. 📷 Marine Sgt. We are very grateful to the United States Marine Corps for honoring the UNION mission, the legendary OSS veteran Col. Peter Ortiz, and all the Marines who served heroically in OSS. When OSS received a Congressional Gold Medal - Congress's highest civilian honor - in 2018, we inscribed the name of the UNION mission on it.

Today, the Marine Corps honors the parents and families of those who have lost their loved ones while serving our country. Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day is a reminder to never forget those who gave their last full measure of devotion while serving and to forever support those left behind. Semper Fidelis

During World War II, a small operational detachment from the Office of Strategic Services parachuted behind enemy lines into the German-controlled French Alps to arm, train, and organize the French resistance fighters on August 1, 1944. U.S. #MarineCorps Maj. Peter Ortiz led the OSS team of five other #Marines, a US Army Air Corps Captain, and a French resistance fighter wearing a Marine Corps uniform. The operation ultimately led to them being surrounded by German forces in the town of Centron, where the team willingly surrendered to save the local civilian population. Eighty years later, their actions are remembered by U.S. and French service members and civilians. 📷 Marine Sgt. Kedrick Schumacher and Gunnery Sgt. Donato Maffin
