Proud to announce that Malcolm Drilling Company, Inc. has been awarded the Well/s Drilling Project of the Year by The Dewatering Institute! At Bull Lake Dam, Malcolm executed a complex dewatering strategy tailored to the unique geological conditions. By integrating an eductor dewatering system, deep wells, and vacuum-assisted deep wells, we effectively managed groundwater. Utilizing Sonic Drilling for continuous soil sampling allowed us to gather real-time data, make immediate adjustments, and optimize performance every step of the way. A huge thank you to Abhishek Vyas, Matt Kennedy, and the entire crew, whose hard work and commitment to safety made this project a success! #award #well #dewatering #projectoftheyear #groundwater

This was one of our signature projects, where the owner fully recognized the value of an Early Contractor Involvement. Working with the entire design team for over 2 years, we ensured the safe design and installation of a deep and very long excavation for the five pictured digester structures located adjacent to a railroad line, by proposing a 150-foot-deep D-Wall. The CFA Piles (aka Auger-Cast Piles) provide a fast and cost-effective alternative to traditional Drilled Shafts for supporting various mechanical buildings. We still remember this exciting project and are happy to see it near its completion.
We’re honored to support the SFPUC Biosolids Digester Facilities Project in San Francisco. This project upgrades the aging solids treatment facilities, producing higher quality “Class A” biosolids, enhancing odor control, and increasing resiliency against sea level rise and earthquakes. ENGEO provided geotechnical engineering services, tackling complex subsurface conditions and seismic challenges. One of the key recommendations included a 150-foot-deep slurry diaphragm shoring wall, over 700 large diameter auger-cast piles, and over 500 micropiles to ensure stability and safety.
