Granting life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses
About us
Wishes are more than just a nice thing. A wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a life-threatening medical condition. This one belief guides us in everything we do at Make-A-Wish®. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve. It compels us to be creative in exceeding the expectations of every wish kid. It drives us to make our donated resources go as far as possible. Most of all, it's the founding principle of our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child. Wishes are more than just a nice thing. And they are far more than gifts, or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved - wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities. The impact varies. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy. Whatever the odds, whatever the obstacles ... wishes find a way to make the world better. We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Five-year-old Randin's wish to go to Disney World has been granted! Randin, who has congenital heart disease, loves Toy Story, superheroes, and Mickey Mouse. Disney World is pretty much the world headquarters for all three of those things, so Randin's wish choice was a pretty easy one. At Disney World, Randin met Buzz and Woody, Mickey and Minnie as well as Pluto and Goofy.

Nine-year-old Dale's wish to go to Disney World has been granted. Dale, who has been fighting cancer, chose a Disney World wish because it allowed him to travel, meet Mickey Mouse, and experience the new Avatar-themed ride “Flight of Passage.” On his wish trip, Dale sat in the pilot’s seat of a commercial jetliner, met Captain America, Timon, Bumblebee the Transformer, and many others. He visited Animal Kingdom, rode Expedition Everest and even swam in the Atlantic ocean.

Wish Granted Nine-year-old Rosaleah's wish to go to Disney World has been granted. During her trip to Orlando, Rosaleah met Mickey Mouse, Ana, Elsa, Tiana and the real-life Miss River City! The highlight of her trip was at Sea World though. A dolphin took a liking to Rosaleah and followed her everywhere, creating a small crowd who were amazed by the bond she formed with the aquatic mammal. Rosaleah nicknamed her devoted dolphin pal 'Lola.'

Nine-year-old Corbin's wish to have a shopping spree has been granted! Some of his bigger purchases included an Oculus VR headset, extravagant Lego sets, and a PlayStation Portal Player. Corbin's mom wrote us and said that “Corbin wanted me to tell everyone at Make-A-Wish thank you. It has been a while since I have seen him smile. Thank you again for your kind giving to him.”
