Bindi Bleu, one of our pet therapy dogs, just celebrated her 100th visit with Bryn Mawr Hospital! 🎉🐾 Bindi’s owner, Vicki Helgenberg, shares Bindi's pet therapy journey: "On November 21, 2023, Bindi made her first therapy dog visit. That was the beginning of a new life for her and a life she was meant to be doing. This little girl ‘just knows’ what her purpose is. I knew that as soon as I first met her. Bindi is so loving towards each and every person she has ever met. She doesn’t know why they are where they are. She just knows that she can make a difference, and in some cases, ‘mini miracles’ happen. I, on the other hand, am so fortunate to be able to witness what occurs. Bindi has officially completed 100 visits as a Certified Therapy Dog. I am so proud of her! This past year we have visited hospitals, senior living and hospice facilities, libraries, colleges, local children and more. I am so fortunate to be Bindi's mom! I get to witness the changes and the reactions that residents of all ages and circumstances get to experience. Bindi does make a difference and it is breathtaking and beautiful. Thank you to Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Diana for being Bindi’s evaluator and a huge thank you to Joanna — Bindi’s other mom — who knew I needed a miracle in my life. Here we go Bindi. The best is yet to come, and here’s to many more!"

The loss of a pregnancy or newborn is traumatic and grieving family members have different ways of processing and honoring the memory of their loss. Recently, we welcomed a generous and meaningful donation from Dawson and Brooke Bragg! They provided “Noah’s Purpose” bags filled with items to offer support to grieving patients experiencing the loss of a baby. Brooke experienced the loss of her son Noah at 16 weeks in 2023 at Lankenau Medical Center. When leaving the hospital, she was provided with cherished footprints, a bereavement folder and a butterfly bag. She was touched by this kindness, knowing that someone was thinking of her and her baby. We are so grateful for this loving donation which helps in our compassionate care of grieving patients. Main Line Health's Perinatal Bereavement Program's purpose is to provide families experiencing perinatal/neonatal loss with emotional support and continuity of care through a multidisciplinary approach.
