Last night, our company outing to see the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards was a blast! It felt like the 4th of July came early to Baltimore with all the fireworks lighting up the sky after each of the four home runs the Orioles scored! Today is #Juneteenth, a day of freedom and reflection. As we celebrate this important day, we are reminded of the role Landscape Architecture plays in creating a more equitable world. Our projects strive to build vibrant, inclusive, and resilient communities for all. We’re excited to share some of our recent initiatives that make a positive impact on our community: •  N Norris Alley Renovation: We are transforming an unsafe alley into a vibrant, beautiful space for the local community. This project aims to provide a safe and inviting environment for everyone to enjoy. •  Inner County Outreach Master Plan: We’ve been awarded a project to design a new campus in Aberdeen that focuses on the well-being of underserved communities. Our master plan will ensure access to essential services and green spaces, fostering a sense of belonging and support. • Serenity Park Development: Continuing our work at Serenity Park, we are dedicated to creating a neighborhood greenspace. We look forward to our next planting event, bringing the community together to nurture this vital green space. In addition to our projects, we are committed to supporting the next generation of designers and landscape architects: • Baltimore Design School Donation: We recently donated $2,500 to the Baltimore Design School, supporting Baltimore City high school students aspiring to pursue careers in design professions. • Edmondson-Westside High School Partnership: Our ongoing relationship with Edmondson-Westside High includes inviting students to shadow us during the summer, introducing these talented young individuals to the landscape architecture profession. • Mahan Rykiel Landscape Architecture Scholarship: We have established a yearly $2,500 scholarship through a partnership with Maryland ASLA. This scholarship honors our 40 year history as a Women’s Business Enterprise/Minority Business Enterprise (WBE/MBE) and will support the growth of a local college student in the landscape architecture field. Every small action counts, and together, we can create a more equitable and sustainable world through Landscape Architecture. Let’s continue to work together to make a difference! #juneteenth2024
