We are thrilled to share the successful runway presentation of upcycled designs curated through the junior and senior mentorship program at Otis College of Art and Design department.   Junior and senior students presented their creations on the runway and showcased projects from respected mentors such as Mike Amiri, Revolve, J. Crew, Katherine Ross/LACMA, Blizzard Entertainment, Bleu/Rod Beattie, and Marcus Clayton, wrapping up with a grand finale by Maggie Sottero. Happy World Environment Day! On World Environment Day, we are focusing on our work to plant forests and restore lands and we're taking action for a more sustainable future. Maggie Sottero is growing forests with One Tree Planted, with nearly 35,000 trees planted—and counting! From planting wildlife corridors in Costa Rica to conserving Koala habitat in Australia, we are supporting reforestation, wildlife survival, and the recovery of endangered tree and plant species. In partnership with One Tree Planted, we're planting a tree in honor of every Maggie bride. This year, Maggie Sottero has embarked on a mentorship journey for the 2023-2024 undergraduate Fashion Design program at Otis College of Art and Design. One of the highlights of this collaboration is the showcasing of upcycled and reimagined wedding gowns by the Fashion Design students at the college’s prestigious annual fashion show, scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2024. We're reducing fabric consumption without compromising the fit and quality of our gowns, and scaling up our usage of lower-impact materials in our collections. We've been testing recycled materials and water/energy-efficient yarn-dyed fabrics to design wedding dresses that not only look good but also have a reduced impact on Mother Earth! And we're backing circularity through textile recycling partnerships. We're also sourcing shipping and packaging supplies created from recycled content, and we're supporting renewable power at our U.S. and U.K. offices.
