🌟 Excited to share that Maestral, in partnership with the Doha Institute and UNICEF Qatar, has successfully completed a comprehensive mapping of the child protection system and social service workforce in Qatar! Our work focused on enhancing the understanding of the existing child protection framework and identifying key actors across sectors. By assessing the social service workforce in areas like health, education, social welfare, and justice, we pinpointed opportunities for improvement, particularly in case management and linking policy with service delivery. The outcomes of this initiative are paving the way for more effective and integrated services for children and families in Qatar. We’re proud to contribute to advancing child protection and social work in the region! 🌍👶🤝 Learn more about this project and all of Maestral’s work on our website: https://lnkd.in/gg-7vtz #ChildProtection #SocialWork #Qatar #Maestral #UNICEF #DohaInstitute #IntegratedServices #SystemsBuilding Atieno Odenyo Peta-Gaye Bookall

🌍 Promoting Child Justice in Tunisia: Exploring Alternatives to Detention🌍 At Maestral International, we're proud to have recently collaborated with UNICEF Tunisia on a critical study focused on alternatives to detention for children in conflict with the law. This project is a significant step toward ensuring that the rights of children are protected. Through qualitative research, we explored various alternative measures, ultimately proposing an operational plan to implement our recommendations. The insights and strategies developed through this initiative aim to foster a more humane and rehabilitative approach to juvenile justice in Tunisia. We're dedicated to advancing child justice and creating a safer, more just world for all children. The Coordination Centre supports 10 oblasts in establishing a foundation for sustainable change under the Better Care Reform in Ukraine! ✅ We’ve established Task Force Groups in 5 demonstration oblasts: Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Poltava, Chernivtsi and Khmelnytskyi. In the coming months, groups will also be formed in the remaining demonstration areas: Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Zakarpattia and Volyn. These Task Force Groups bring together diverse voices, including representatives from oblast state administrations, civil society organizations, young individuals with lived experiences of institutional care, international organizations, and other key stakeholders. Together, we aim to enhance coordination and collaboration for effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Better Care Reform in each demonstration oblast in alignment with the National Strategy. 🌈What's Next? The established groups are currently focused on developing specific regional plans to ensure every child’s right to grow up in a loving family environment. This effort includes rigorous data collection and evaluation of best practices, as well as identifying the challenges each region faces in child rights protection, access to services, and the development of family-based care. 🌟 With support from UNICEF and our other partners, we will launch pilot projects in selected communities within the demonstration oblasts aimed at implementing these regional plans. We are committed to scaling up successful practices in service provision and creating alternative family-based care solutions, with a particular focus on children with disabilities. Join us on this transformative journey towards better care for every child! 💛💙 #BetterCareReform #Ukraine #ChildRights #FamilyBasedCare

By documenting the operational model and programmatic achievements, we helped highlight how this initiative transformed the socio-economic inclusion of forcibly displaced persons, enhanced access to education and child protection, and strengthened the resilience of host communities. This project has left a lasting impact, and we’re excited to see how these insights will shape future responses to forced displacement crises.
