Lucas Research, Inc. is an Independent Clinical Research site located on the coast of North Carolina. Dr. K Jean Lucas, "Jeannie", is Board Certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. Founded in 2004, Dr. Lucas and her team have been a globally-ranked top enroller consistently in Diabetes, NASH, Diabetic Nephropathy, Thyroid, High Triglyceride, CV Outcome, and Obesity trials. The 23,000 square foot facility is a state-of-the-art facility and home to a 50 team including the Principal Investigators, two Sub-Investigator, and a dozen Clinical Research Coordinators. Lucas Research is committed to moving medicine forward by leading in clinical research to improve lives globally by serving locally. We are incredibly thrilled to announce that Lucas Research is joining our rapidly growing network of #clinicalresearch sites! 🎉 The acquisition expands our reach into North Carolina with the addition of 5 #clinicaltrial sites. We are now able to offer Sponsors and CROs access to more than 35 clinical research sites, reaching 8.5 million geographically and ethnically-diverse patients, and over 155 experienced investigators who perform trials in over 20 core therapeutic areas spanning 100 health indications. Lucas Research was originally founded by husband-and-wife team, Dr. Kathryn Jean Lucas, a board-certified internist who currently serves as lead Principal Investigator, and Seth Medlin, who currently serves as CEO. Happy World Diabetes Day! It's a great time to check your A1C.
It's #WorldDiabetesDay! ♦️ Type 1 #diabetes is not preventable. ♦️ Type 2 diabetes is often preventable through a healthy diet, regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy body weight and avoiding tobacco use. Diabetes can be different for everyone - every lived experience matters. Here are some things you should know: --- People with diabetes can live long and healthy lives if they have access to essential care and medicines. Regular screening and treatment helps reduce the risk of complications: ♦️ blindness ♦️ kidney failure ♦️ heart attacks ♦️ stroke ♦️ lower limb amputation --- If you have diabetes, get regular screening for complications. This includes screening for: 🔎 kidney disease 🔎 regular eye exams 🔎 foot assessment Early detection is important! But many people with diabetes still do not have access to essential care. --- The way we talk about diabetes and the language we use is critical to end stigma, blame and shame. 💙 Be inclusive. 💙 Be kind. 💙 Be respectful. The right words go a long way. --- Another good reason to drop that deadly habit: Quitting smoking reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 30-40%. #NoTobacco --- In 1922, #insulin co-discoverer Frederick Banting refused to profit from the discovery and offered it to the world as a global public good.
