The leading nationwide operator of café-bars – a Lounge is a home-from-home, open all day, every day

About us

A Lounge is a neighborhood café-bar combining elements of a restaurant, British pub and coffee shop culture, with a unique ‘home-from-home’ atmosphere. Featuring a diverse menu, Lounges are open all day, every day for long lazy breakfasts, brunch and lunch, or a relaxed dinner and drinks. We serve a wide range of food and drinks (including full kid's, gluten-free and vegan menus), served in a relaxed, welcoming space. Each Lounge is driven by an independent culture and focus on their local communities. As of February 2024, there are over 200 Lounges nationwide, yet each represents something different to different people. For some it is somewhere to go for a coffee after the school run; for others it is a place to catch up with friends; a place for an informal meal, a celebration or a night out. 90 per cent. of Lounge customers visit for multiple occasions. Lounge was founded in 2002 by a trio of longstanding friends, Dave Reid, Alex Reilley and Jake Bishop - now, over 20 years on, our focus on hospitality, comfort and familiarity remains at the heart of our Lounges, and it’s our wonderful teams and customers that make what we do so special.

Here at Loungers we have started holding regular Glue Crews with our team. What is a Glue Crew? Well we believe that our team are the glue that holds our business together and we wouldn't be Loungers without them, therefore we want to bring people from different levels across Brightside - Roadside Dining, Cosy Club and Lounges together to talk about the day-to-day and the important things to them. The latest one was held in Cosy Club Worcester with this being an open forum on a range of topics - if it matters to our Loungers then it matters to us. As a business we are then able to use this feedback to understand what we do well and areas that need to be a focus for us to continue to develop as we grow.

Investing in our teams is high on the agenda for us at Loungers, with this in mind we hosted a first of its kind Assistant Managers and Sous Chefs Huddle. Here we brought together 90 of our fabulous Loungers from the South Coast region with a day packed of activities, information and recognition. This included a 'What make a Lounger' and 'What makes a Lounge' overview from our Operations Director, Craig Williams and Regional Ops Manager, Si Chalk. Followed by interactive sessions on Recruitment, L&D and Central Comms. We can't wait to see what our future leaders go on to achieve 💥 Check out our careers site for all our current vacancies 👉 https://lnkd.in/eFvGxE8J

Loungers Ops trip 2024 🎉 Our Ops team work really hard all year supporting our teams and ensuring every guest leaves happy, therefore we like to thank them with a trip abroad. This gives them to chance to relax, spend time with other Ops and (hopefully) enjoy some sunshine ☀ This year we sent over 80 people to Italy, where the Ops enjoyed a historical tour of Pompeii, delicious food in Naples and an eventful boat trip to Capri featuring a lightening storm. We wouldn't be Loungers without our impressive Ops team which is growing year on year and we can't wait for next year's trip!
