About us
We are The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. Since 1949, we’ve invested more than $1.3 billion in groundbreaking research, pioneering many of today’s most innovative approaches. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. And we are making an impact in the cancer community. More than 70 years of fighting blood cancers has led us to a game changing belief. The cures for cancer are in our blood. We focus on three key areas: Research We are the largest nonprofit funder of blood cancer research. Advocacy We advocate at the state and federal level for policies to ensure blood cancer patients have access to affordable care and the most innovative therapies. Patient Support We are the leading source of free information and support for blood cancer patients, including help finding appropriate clinical trials. Within our Mission, we are committed to providing information, resources and support to those affected by blood cancers through various campaigns, including, Team in Training, Light the Night, Man & Woman of the Year, Student of the Year, Big Climb, and Hero Squad. "I was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL), and to be honest, I wasn't tripping at first because I had no idea what that meant. Then my mom explained to me that I had [blood] cancer. I went from ending my junior year, to celebrating my 17th birthday, to getting my port installed, to starting chemo all in the same month." BloodCancer is called a lot of different things, including Hodgkin lymphoma for Izarhea. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is get the message out that we are HERE and ready to help. 📢 That’s where you come in. Double tap to stand with everyone affected during #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth and #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth ❤️ This is Blood Cancer. Read Izarhea’s story 👉 https://bit.ly/4gOOVO2 #BCAM24
