Building a community where literacy is attainable for everyone.

About us

The Literacy Council of Frederick County (LCFC) provides Frederick County adults with pathways to essential literacy skills. Success for the individuals and families we seek to serve rests on a collective community approach that shapes a full path to a thriving life. 📚 LCFC offers programs in Basic Literacy, English as a Second Language, Workplace English, Parent Literacy, and special services such as assistance with basic computer skills, simple math literacy, GED prep, and health literacy classes. Tutors may also help their students prepare for examinations, such as a driver’s license exam or U.S. citizenship test.
