Exciting news! The Entrepreneurs of Color Fund (EOCF) has officially surpassed its $500 million small business lending goal— more than two years ahead of schedule! This incredible achievement is helping close capital gaps in communities of color through loans and technical assistance, directly supporting the growth of 9,500 businesses across 10 metro areas. LISC is proud to continue empowering local CDFIs to increase access to capital for diverse entrepreneurs who face challenges with traditional financing. But we’re just getting started! We’re closing out another week with some fantastic news! LISC has been awarded $6.25M from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) through two parts of its #CDFI Program award: the Healthy Foods Financing Initiative ($5M) as well as the base Financial Assistance program ($1.25M). LISC will use the funds to subsidize eligible loans to borrowers across the country for a range of projects, including lowering interest rates, providing credit risk mitigation opportunities and seeding lasting gains for underserved people and communities.
