It is with the heaviest of hearts that Emilia and I share this with you. Our 14-year old son – Estevan Kane Sugiyama – passed away early in the morning yesterday on July 3rd. He was visiting his grandma in Nevada, and spending time with Emilia’s brothers doing what loved – fishing, working on cars in the garage with his uncles, and eating his grandma’s delicious Mexican food. He was on a FaceTime group chat with his friends until 1:00am and decided to play with a pistol he found, and he accidentally shot himself. Emilia and I found out Wednesday morning. Please pray for me and my family, as this is a burden that we could have never fathomed. We have been surrounded by close friends and family during this devastating time, and we are grateful for the love that has been poured over us. Our beloved son’s memorial service will be on Sunday, July 21st, held at the Santiago Estate & Vineyard - 8015 Santiago Canyon Road, Orange CA 92869. More details to come.
