Happy fifth Lionakis anniversary to Dean Albright, an Associate in our civic department! Over his five years, he's been a part of over 50 projects at Lionakis and is a true team player and collaborator on his projects. Dean is also actively involved across the firm, always attending and supporting firm events. Thank you for all of your hard work, Dean, and cheers to many more Lionakis anniversaries!

To close out our Pride Month campaign, we are highlighting the Rainbow Honor Walk which is located in San Francisco's World-Famous Castro District. The walk of fame installation is meant to honor notable lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals from around the world who left a lasting mark on society. Its bronze plaques honor LGBTQ individuals who made significant contributions in their fields.

Continuing on with our LGBTQ Monuments and Memorials campaign, the next place we would like to highlight is the Mattachine Steps, also known as the Cove Avenue stairway, which is an outdoor staircase in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. The staircase was dedicated to the Mattachine Society in 2012, in memory of Harry Hay, who cofounded the gay rights group. The Mattachine Society was founded in 1950 as an early national gay rights organization. The group was formed by labor activist, Harry Hay with a collection of his male friends in Los Angeles to protect and improve the rights of gay men. Branches formed in other cities, and by 1961 the Society had splintered into regional groups.

Next up in our LGBTQ Monuments and Memorial campaign we'd like to highlight the Pink Triangle Park. The triangle-shaped mini-park is located in the Castro District of San Francisco. The park is less than 4,000 square feet and faces Market Street. The park is also across from Harvey Milk Plaza which we highlighted earlier this month. The Pink Triangle Park is the first permanent, free-standing memorial in America dedicated to the thousands of persecuted homosexuals in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust of World War II. Fifteen triangular granite columns are dedicated to the homosexual, bisexual, and transgender victims. The triangle theme recalls these individuals being forced to wear pink triangles sewn to their clothes as an identifier. The Pink Triangle Park was dedicated on Human Rights Day, in 2001. The park serves as a physical reminder of how the persecution of any individual or single group of people damages all humanity.
