In the past, digital experiences lacked or removed emotional connections. However, with the advancement of new technology, specifically the personalization of AI, this is changing. Technology is advancing in emotional intelligence, which is opening new opportunities for companies to build products that have multi-sensory communication abilities. Recently, Lightspeed Partner Moritz Baier-Lentz 🎮 was on a panel discussing the Intersection of Emotions, AI, and Spatial Computing at AWE with Nanea Reeves, Co-Founder and CEO at TRIPP, Inc., Anand Dass, Director at Meta Reality Labs, and Sly Spencer-Lee, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Emerge. Watch the full session here: https://bit.ly/4eUxqLa If you’re building a product for a sensing technology, such as Meta Quest, you can apply to the Meta Quest Lifestyle App Accelerator Program. We are partnering with Meta to provide grant funding and mentorship to developers in the Mixed Reality space. Read more about the program and apply here: https://lnkd.in/eRWfKuhZ

Now serving as Vice President and Fellow at Meta, Soumith shared his insights on the future of AI development tools. The future of software will see far more end-to-end automation as the 'work as a service' paradigm takes hold. Lightspeed Partner Alex Kayyal found that gross margins in the early days for a lot of companies are lower than what would traditionally be considered software gross margins at the 60-70% level. This can have a profound long-term impact on the sustainability of the business over the long haul. As a result, the best founders are simultaneously focused on driving as much automation as possible to improve gross margins. Don’t get discouraged by lower gross margins early on—remember, improving them is crucial for long-term success. Even in the age of AI, maintaining healthy gross margins is vital for sustainable growth. Read more about gross margins in the age of AI here: https://lnkd.in/euNhCn4z
