We love taking a two-generation approach to building community in the 32805 ZIP Code 🌟 Our dedicated education team developed the Senior Reading Ambassador Program, pairing seniors with some of our community’s youngest minds to enhance their learning experiences. Four senior volunteers are now working with kindergarteners at Orange Center Elementary School, providing personalized reading instruction and boosting the confidence of young readers. 📚💙 Since 2014, West Lakes has seen: 📉 A 15% decrease in households below the poverty line 🏠 A 15% rise in owner-occupied housing 💼 A 7% increase in employment 🎓 $182K awarded in scholarships since 2022 And our early childhood efforts are growing! Six community partners now support our early childhood education efforts, and over $1 million has been invested in 18 early learning providers in the 32805 ZIP Code. 🙌🏿 In a 2024 survey, 94% of residents reported satisfaction or neutrality regarding neighborhood changes. Our collaborative efforts have led to numerous recognitions, including Lift Orlando being named Floridian of the Year by Florida Trend in 2021, and receiving the Florida Blue Sapphire Award and Dr. Phillips Leadership Award in 2024.🏆 Check out a snapshot of our Senior Reading Ambassadors at work, plus a few words from Vicki-Elaine Felder, Orange County Public Schools District 5 Representative!

Another great Feast on the 50 at Camping World Stadium celebrating the best of college football and sports - the rivalries, the traditions and coming together as a community. Proud to be president of Florida Citrus Sports and bring big time national and international events like the CheezIt Citrus Bowl, PopTarts Bowl, Florida Classic, FC Series and more to Central Florida. Best of all is the role sports plays in “lifting” up our community and improving lives through Lift Orlando. Thank you to our Florida Citrus Sports executive and advisory boards, our executive leaders Steve Hogan, Shannon Clark, Simon Dover, Matt Repchak and Gabe Park and the entire FCS staff for what you do every day! #floridacitrussports #orlando #sportstourism #liftorlando #adventhealth

CEO and President of Bainum Family Foundation and Children's Equity Fund

Lift Orlando's Love is Local Summit was an incredible experience. And it was yet another reminder of just how great of a partner and organization Lift Orlando is. Their willingness to bring together businesses and funders and advocates all to drive conversations about the importance of centering community and celebrating what the West Lakes community has become is something I applaud and am honored to be part of. As a bonus: I had the pleasure of connecting with the dedicated early childhood educators and advocates in this area.

Thank you to all of our speakers at the Love is Local Summit, including David Daniels, CEO of the Bainum Family Foundation. Lift Orlando is deeply grateful for Bainum’s generous investment in our early learning initiatives. Along with Education Director Lynn Thompson and early childhood specialist Anna Kinchens M.Ed, their help has supported our early learning collaborative of 18 locally-owned early learning centers. These critical early learning providers now benefit from a shared community, resources, and training provided by Lift Orlando. David opened the day with powerful words. “We want to fund you to succeed. We don’t just want to fund you,” he shared. Then, he laid out a powerful case for making long-term commitments to organizations – offering them the room to test innovative approaches and learn over time, even if that means some initiatives fail to bear fruit. We are forever grateful to have that level of deep, committed support from the Bainum Family Foundation. The Summit signaled a new chapter in the story of place-based philanthropy in Orlando and nationwide. Let’s keep working to upLift our neighbors together. #LoveIsLocalOrlando

Lift Orlando was honored to spend a memorable evening celebrating 150 years since the birth of Dr. Phillips. We are proud to play a role in upholding his legacy and are especially grateful for Dr. Phillips Charities' latest investment of $150,000 in the work of Lift Orlando. Since the beginning of Lift Orlando, Dr. Phillips Charities has been a steadfast, generous, and visionary partner.
