Last week, LICP debuted our latest public art installation, "Lumina Arcana," which features two large neon-light-clad pergolas on Vernon Boulevard. In celebration of #PrideMonth, the installation’s lights were programmed to display a rainbow of colors! 🌈 A special thank you to artist Kenny Greenberg, the NYC Department of Small Business Services, the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, the New York City Department of Transportation, Con Edison, and Boyce Technologies, Inc. for help with the project! Thank you also to Malai, Safir Mediterranean, all of our speakers and partners at the event, and to everyone who came for the drag performance and story hour. Make sure to come back and check out the installation at night to see it all lit up! 💡 📷 Reiko Yoo View more photos here: https://lnkd.in/ep99h_ts

Join us next week, Wednesday, June 5, for our annual Spring Benefit as we celebrate our recent work and honor two remarkable individuals who have dedicated so much to Riis and the broader Queens community. Frank Monterisi, former Riis board member and Executive Vice President of Related Companies, will receive this year's Riis Legacy Award. Frank has been a change-maker and an exemplary leader in our community. Our second honoree is our very own Robert Madison, who is retiring this summer after 13 years of steadfast leadership at Riis. Enjoy a night of celebration, good company, fantastic food, and great music! Click here to donate, sponsor, or purchase tickets: https://lnkd.in/esDpDTvb Our deepest gratitude to all our sponsors for their generous support of our event!

Excited to announce the next step in my career! Today was my first day with the Long Island City Partnership as the Business Improvement District Retail Support & Operations Manager. Growing up on Long Island, I remember taking the LIRR into the city and seeing One Court Square towering over Long Island City just before entering the tunnel to Penn Station. Today, I look down from my block in Astoria to see how much Long Island City has changed since I was a kid. To be a part of its continued growth is a full circle moment for me and I am excited to see what the future brings.
