Today, we are excited to share the findings of our 2022 #ESG report. Since our inaugural report last year, we have made significant progress across all four pillars of our ESG commitment through initiatives, partnerships and the dedication and ingenuity of our exceptional employees. As a result of our efforts over the past year, we’ve increased our fuel efficiency, improved operational efficiency, reduced workplace incidents and increased community engagement. While we take great pride in the achievements outlined in this report, we are eager to continue to work toward our zero waste goal: a 100% utilization rate of the end-of-life tires we collect by 2030. Cutting-edge technology on the road doesn’t just mean hybrid engines or fancy dashboard displays. Across the continent, people are turning to SmartMIX™, the next generation of rubberized asphalt, as an alternative to traditional asphalt for highways, roads and parking lots. SmartMIX™ uses rubber recycled from reclaimed tires to create pavement that resists cracking, lasts longer and is more cost-effective than alternatives. Tire-derived aggregate (TDA) is a sustainable alternative to natural soil for landfills, foundations and other projects that need consistent drainage over a long period of time. When heavy rains or other sources of washout and erosion are a concern, TDA improves drainage, holding firmer than dirt without compacting and restricting water flow. The city of Prince George, BC, recently refinished the hallway and dressing room of the Kin Centre sports complex with rubberized flooring made from tires processed by Liberty Tire Recycling. Rubber tile is the ideal flooring material for a hockey facility’s dressing room: it’s soft and durable, nonslip to reduce fall risk and won’t damage skate-blades. Plus, as a #RecycledRubber technology, it helps keep end-of-life tires out of overflowing landfills and environmentally harmful illegal dump sites. Read more from CKPG-TV: https://lnkd.in/eZsP7dJR

Consumer tires are growing — both in size and volume. As demand for larger tires expands, Rubber Modified Asphalt (RMA) is one of the strongest solutions to keep these tires on the road longer and recycle them efficiently at end-of-life. RMA also provides a smoother ride, increased surface durability, lower life cycle costs and reduced emissions, in addition to reduced traffic noise when compared to traditional asphalt.
