We are excited to announce our first-ever high-speed EV charging stations located at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in west Louisville. The venue quickly emerged as a catalyst for economic growth since its opening in 2021, hosting more than 3,000 events and community programs with attendees from 20 countries and all 50 states. The 24-acre venue is an ideal destination, located in the Russell neighborhood and near Interstate 64, for electric vehicle drivers who live nearby or are visiting the area. “I always like to remind people this used to be 24 acres of contaminated land, so we've gone from dirty land to clean energy,” said Sadiqa Reynolds, Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center president and founder, during a July 18 unveiling event. These new 350-kilowatt DC fast charging stations are part of our commitment to add high-speed EV charging in up to eight locations across our service territories to help make it easier for EV drivers to plug into power. “Our goal by increasing EV charging infrastructure and accessibility is to help spur economic development as well as support the growing number of EV motorists traveling in and through Kentucky,” said Shannon Montgomery, LG&E and KU vice president of customer service.
