A sixth generation, family owned and operated business, Lessing’s has been dedicated to quality and excellence in food service since 1890. Founder Maxwell Lessing built the Lessing’s brand with his vision of providing services to coffee shops in lower Manhattan. By 1917, the company grew into a downtown operation comprised of a bakeshop, commissary and additional service outlets located near Manhattan’s Financial District. Lessing's was serving an integral part of the New York's workforce by the late 1920s from as many as 20 locations including the famous Woolworth Building on Wall Street. Dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and nutrition, our brand spans over 100 locations – including corporate dining, educational institutions, private and public clubs, and vending accounts – across the region. As one of the most recognizable names in hospitality on Long Island, we own and operate some of the area's finest dining establishments. Lessing’s full-service restaurants include four-star Mirabelle featuring world class ambiance paired with the finest French cuisine, the waterfront View Restaurant offering the best seafood Long Island has to offer, and trademark “Main Street” locations serving moderately priced American fare including Post Office Café, Maxwell’s, Library Café and Finnegan’s. In keeping with the Lessing legacy, we continue the same commitment to quality and excellence today that Maxwell Lessing founded our business on more than a century ago.

Lessing's Hospitality Group has successfully completed the acquisition of Division Hospitality Group as of July 31, 2023. Division Hospitality Group is a distinguished provider of food services to Catholic schools in the Bronx, Queens and Westchester areas. Division Hospitality Group, owned by Nicholas Mancini and co-managed by his three sisters Nicole Cestra, Kristina Bastian, and Brianna Mancini, has serviced 15 Catholic school accounts with a dedicated team of professionals. "Lessing's is delighted to welcome Division Hospitality Group and its dedicated employees to our family," said Michael Lessing, CEO of Lessing's Hospitality Group. "The acquisition marks an important expansion within the institutional food service sector. Division's deep local connections and commitment to quality service align perfectly with our ethos. As per the agreement, Division Hospitality's team has become part of Lessing's Hospitality.
