One of our previous Top Speakers of the year, Michelle Taylor Wulfestieg (Founder and Executive Director of So Cal Hospice Foundation) shared her story and mission before lunch that was served at the Be Well OC Orange Campus. After lunch, we had a Foster Care Panel Discussion featuring leaders from Olive Crest - USA, Royal Family Kids and Heart and Home, This was moderated beautifully by Reina Cuthill. WORKSHOP # 7 - JUSTICE AND PUBLIC SAFETY DAY - March 21, 2024 Justice Day is always a very powerful day for the class members of Leadership Tomorrow and this year did not disappoint! When we say that you get access to TOP leaders in our community through this program we were not kidding! The day started with an impactful tour of the Theo Lacy Correctional Facility. This was followed by a Public Safety Panel at the Central Justice Center Moderated by Chief Joe Cartwright (Chief of Police, Newport Beach Police Department) with Michael Ken (Chief of Police, Irvine Police Department); Dan Stefano (Fire Chief, City of Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue) and Jeff Boyles (Fire Chief, Newport Beach Fire Dept - Community Emergency Response Team). Next up was a conversation between Todd Spitzer, Orange County District Attorney and Martin Schwartz, Public Defender, Orange County. To have these two powerful leaders together sharing their perspectives from two distinctly different positions was a great opportunity for the class. Lunch was served at the Newport Beach Police Department - thank you to our sponsor David Feldberg with Coastal Real Estate Group. This followed by a personal tour of both the Newport Beach Police Department and Newport Beach Fire Dept - Community Emergency Response Team Departments. The afternoon ended with a discussion with team members of the Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center to share about the important work they are doing in our community. Congrats to the entire planning committee for this successful Justice Day! Catalina Rogers (Class of ‘22); Justin Carr, MPA(Class of ‘16); Dave Miner (Class of ‘22); Philip Puhek (Class of ‘17); David Feldberg(Class of ‘19); Sabrina Fabbri (Class of ‘22) and Julie Chiaverini (Class of ‘22).
