You can help Illinois’ children in care heal, overcome challenges and return to family. There is a great need for individuals who are willing to become specialized foster families. Foster parents who choose to provide care to children with higher medical or emotional needs are able to make an incredible difference, and LCFS will support you every step of the way. Tina* had a really tough start in life. She experienced abuse and neglect as a child, and when she grew up she didn’t have a stable place to live and got into a rough crowd, drug addiction, and a bad relationship. Amidst this chaos, Tina gave birth to her daughter Mia who was born exposed to drugs. Her case was referred to LCFS’ Intact Family Recovery Program and assigned to Crystal, a compassionate caseworker. It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Ray Mueller, a longtime donor, former LCFS Foundation Board member and dear friend of the agency. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Ray’s generosity touched countless lives through his dedicated support, and he will be greatly missed.
