Live from Nashville @ the Aprio Firm Alliance 🧡🤠 One of the most resonant messages today? “Be Curious.” It’s a principle we often hear but sometimes forget to practice fully in our work and relationships. At Aprio, curiosity isn’t just encouraged; it’s woven into their DNA of how they approach solutions for clients and empower their teams. Today, I was reminded that curiosity goes beyond asking questions—it’s about digging deeper, challenging assumptions, and seeking to understand rather than just responding. This mindset isn’t only transformative for driving innovation but also for building stronger, more empathetic connections. Curiosity drives us to ask, “Why do things work this way?” or “How could we do this better?” By fostering a culture of curiosity, we unlock doors to solutions that might have otherwise remained unseen. Grateful to be part of the Aprio Alliance that values growth, exploration, and continuous learning. Here’s to challenging “face value” and diving into the depth of understanding! #AprioAlliance #BeCurious #Innovation

It’s always an honor to listen to Barry Melancon, CPA, CGMA speak. AI was a big focus of his update. Here are my takeaways. It’s clear that while AI brings challenges, it also presents powerful opportunities for CPAs to lead and add value in new ways. “Every major technological change in the history of our profession… People have written about how this is going to put the profession out of business… The reality is that’s never happened.” Barry reminded us that while new technologies—like spreadsheets, the internet, and now AI—are initially seen as disruptive, they have ultimately elevated the profession’s value. In today’s landscape, where trust is rare and concerns about AI run high, CPAs are positioned uniquely to guide businesses in responsible AI use. Barry put it well: “The value aspect, at least for some period of time, of the uncertainty and the distrust of AI plays right into our sweet spot from a trust and responsibility perspective.” Yet, AI’s impact on the accounting field will be profound, from automating entry-level tasks to requiring new methods for auditing and verification. As Barry noted, “AI hallucinates, makes up stuff when it doesn’t know the answer. Huge ramifications from an audit evidence perspective…How do you attest to something when maybe it’s an hallucination?” To navigate this, the challenge lies in accelerating skill development, moving CPAs into roles that deliver advisory and strategic insights faster than ever before. AI won’t replace accountants, but it will redefine how they work and where an accountant adds value. The CPA profession’s trusted reputation makes it uniquely suited to shape AI’s responsible use, ensuring governance, compliance, and the confidence that clients and stakeholders expect. The future is here. 🤖📈📉📊
