We have successfully completed our most recent upgrade project. Currently rigged up at our Midland facility, Latshaw 19 has received a number of modifications that will ensure this rig will be able to handle future drilling requirements for many more years to come. One modification of many to highlight is the increased setback to 810,000 lbs. to better complement its 1.0M lb. hoisting capability. With this increased setback, Rig 19 will rack over 33,000’ of 5” DP or 30,000 of 5 ½” DP. Just a reminder – on June 6th, we celebrated the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the largest military amphibious assault in world history. On that day, 133,000 soldiers from the US, UK, Canada, and their allies landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, to start the land assault on the German army. The assault was called Operation Overlord. The invasion force included 7,000 ships and landing craft manned by over 195,000 naval personnel from 8 allied countries. The landing beaches were given the code names Omaha, Utah, Gold, Juno, and Sword. There were 10,300 casualties during the landings. By June 30th, just 3 weeks later, over 850,000 men, 148,000 vehicles, and 570,000 tons of supplies had landed on the Normandy shores. Eleven months later, after a march across Europe to Berlin and fighting the Battle of the Bulge, the Germans signed an unconditional surrender on May 8, 1945 (VE-Day), thereby putting an end to the murderous reign of Hitler and the Nazi regime. Approximately 3 months later, the Japanese also signed an unconditional surrender after we dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As a reminder, our oil production helped us win WWII. The US supplied 85% of all the oil used by the Allied forces during the war. Neither Germany nor Japan had the oil resources to fight the war that the US did. Remember that when you hear all the left-wing progressives pushing their fantasy agenda to do away with fossil fuels. You can’t fight a war with windmills and solar panels.

Check out one of our recent upgrade projects. We outfitted Rig 16 with a 3,000HP National 1625-DE drawworks and increased the SHL Setback capacities to match! The rig now has a hoisting capacity of 1.4M lbs and will rack over 33,000’ of 5” DP or 30,000’ of 5 1/2” DP.
