🌟LCF Team Member Spotlight 🌟: Diana Otero is our talented Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships & Innovation who leads with her heart bringing care and an impeccable attention to detail to all of the special campaigns and key programs she leads at LCF. She brings over 20 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector and immigration advocacy which fuels her commitment to supporting leaders and organizations through initiatives like the Latino Nonprofit Accelerator, The Capital Campaign, and one our newest programs Rest is Power which enables organizations to provide their executive leaders with sabbatical to rest and recharge. Diana is also an incredible event organizer who creates beautiful spaces where participants feel loved and welcomed. When Diana first came to the Bay Area from Bogota, Colombia leaving behind her family support network, building new relationships with a local family and the Latino community made her feel safer, supported, and less alone. Her passion for helping everyone feel loved and welcomed into community brought her into the nonprofit sector and is why Diana is so passionate about helping organizations thrive as they support entire communities and making leaders feel safe, seen, and respected to dream big within a place that feels like home. An avid soccer fan, Diana especially roots for teams with Colombian players. She was devasted by the outcome of the Copa America final. In her free time, she serves on the board of the St. Francis Center in Redwood City. She loves singing, dancing salsa, and spending quality time with her husband, son, mom, friends, and Luna, her chocolate labradoodle. 💃🏽

  • LCF and our community partners like Comite Civico Del Valle, Inc. and Imperial Valley Equity & Justice Coalition are prepared to Activate Imperial! LCF convened our nonprofit partners and local leaders in the Imperial Valley for a discussion on local capacity building, community needs, and funding opportunities for the region. Lithium in the Salton Sea region has the potential to help transform the communities of that area, while helping our state to reach its climate goals. LCF supports California becoming a competitive source of lithium and prioritizing fair and inclusive investment in the hardworking communities of the Salton Sea region. Thank you to Congressman Ruiz, our nonprofit partners, as well as the local officials of the Imperial Valley who participated in our community roundtable. LCF is proud to have partnered with our grassroots partners in the IV for many years. We look forward to deepening our relationships with community leaders and continue building an equitable, just future for Latino families.

Congratulations to our Latino Nonprofit Accelerator alumni at Nuestra Casa for being awarded a grant from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)! LCF helped Nuestra Casa secure a grant writer which led to this grant. Nuestra Casa will use this grant to support a community task force on air quality, the distribution of roughly 400 air purifiers and filters for community members, and with air quality monitoring. We're honored to support Nuestra Casa as they work with Latino families in East Palo Alto and the mid-peninsula to establish community education, leadership development, and advocacy .Thank you for ensuring families in East Palo Alto have access to cleaner air! To learn more about the work of Nuestra Casa visit their website at nuestracasa.org! 🎨 Recognize the artwork in this photo? Tag the artist in the comments! ⬇
