About us

LaserLinc specializes in laser micrometer and ultrasonic measurement technology for precision measurement of diameter (OD), ovality, material thickness or wall thickness, eccentricity, concentricity, and inside diameter. Our technology is applied across a broad range of industries such as medical, automotive, and aerospace. Applications include measurement and process control of: wire, cable, hose, tube, pipe, monofilament, optical fiber, and centerless ground products. Our primary products include laser micrometers, like the Triton™ Triple-Axis series which offer the fastest measurement rates of any scanning laser micrometer, and ultrasonic thickness gauges. Our laser micrometers are ideal for accurate measurement and defect or flaw detection online, and for benchtop inspection. The UltraGauge ™ line of ultrasonic wall thickness measurement sensors measures thickness of materials including plastics, rubber, glass, and metals such as nitinol (NiTi) and stainless steel. Visit laserlinc.com to learn about the operating principles for laser micrometers and ultrasonic thickness measurement. Visit laserlinc.com for specifications, detailed product descriptions, and an ROI calculator. Made In U.S.A. - LaserLinc's products are manufactured in the U.S.A. by American workers. We are a privately held, 100% U.S. owned corporation.

In last month's FlawSense technology webinar, Product Manager Chad Walker discussed its superiority and key differences to vision systems and manual inspection. FlawSense technology provides a comprehensive 3-dimensional inspection solution using laser-line triangulation, unlike traditional vision systems, which are camera-based and are limited to 2-D inspection. Vision systems work with solid-colored products lacking text or require sophisticated character reading software to disregard text and visual patterns to detect defects. This involves a lengthy process of training the inspection system and managing false positive detections. FlawSense technology, on the other hand, is free of these limitations. It does not rely on color or visual patterns but analyzes and precisely measures the surface contour. This allows FlawSense solutions to initiate inspection immediately and establish dimensional thresholds for defect height, width, and length. Any defects resulting in surface variation exceeding these thresholds will be promptly visualized, identified, and recorded in 3D. Our FlawSense solutions are reliably up to 50 times more accurate than vision systems and laser micrometers! Total Vu HMI and FlawSense technology is the total inspection solution. FlawSense technology's real-time defect detection uses laser-line triangulation to measure diameter and ovality. It provides a comprehensive dimensional view and can generate a contour map at speeds of up to 10,000 times per second, delivering nearly 100% inspection coverage. The Total Vu HMI platform aggregates data from various sources to help optimize wire and cable production processes. It aids in detecting and correcting production issues, leading to waste reduction and improved product quality and yield.

Quality Automation Made Easy. The Metron Way. In addition to typical in-process, continuous dynamic measurement applications, LaserLinc, Inc.’s non-contact measurement equipment is well suited for manual and automated off-line sample inspection. Inspecting cylindrical products with long, thin characteristics, such as camshafts and catheters requires checking multiple locations and dimensions for accuracy. Manual inspections of these areas can be difficult because of the complex profile as well as the need for numerous measurement stations, different equipment and skilled personnel. To simplify and automate this process, LaserLinc, Inc.’s offline Metron system uses software-controlled servos to efficiently and consistently check product profiles against a recipe. And it does this at one station with the press of a button. These systems can measure continually while the slide is moving, or be configured to move-stop- measure-and move again. If needed, these sequences can be combined to create comprehensive inspection routines. Using the Metron system, customers can expect shorter measurement cycle times, deliver greater value and perform more accurate inspections. Metron systems offer customers a cost-effective automated inspection solution since they are built with mostly off-the-shelf components, including:  ◾ Sensor ◾ Linear actuated slide ◾ Light-curtain or enclosure for safe operation ◾ Windows-based PC with optional touchscreen ◾ Total Vu™ software Using these components, we create a fully integrated solution, minimizing risk while maximizing functionality and performance. Customized options for part holding and enclosures are also available. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch. We’re happy to help.
