This week, I’m kicking off a 7-week adventure… …but it’s not the kind you have on a bike. 🚵🏽♀️ I’ll join Margaret Melville and Lily Shanta Howlader of Lasa Health on a small but mighty team of 3 in the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Program. As a #clinicalconsultant and #pelvichealth expert, I'll be acting as Lasa’s Industry Mentor in the late summer cohort of I-Corps. As the IM, I’m tasked with: 📊 Helping the team recognize and reduce confirmation bias in their design methods. 👩🏻🏫 Assisting the Lasa Health team in absorbing and applying relevant lessons from I-Corps interviews and classes. 👩🏻⚕️ Providing my input as a #healthcareprofessional and experienced startup #consultant. 🤝 Forging connections between Lasa Health and the wider #pelvichealth and chronic #painmanagement industries. Over the course of 7 weeks, the team will conduct #interviews with 100 potential customers during the program to better understand their exact needs and identify ways to fill the gaps. I am happy to announce that Lasa Health has been awarded a $250,000 Early-Stage Capital and Retention grant through the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) Advanced Industries Accelerator program. Receiving this grant allows us to enhance our technology and expand our reach, bringing much-needed support to women suffering from chronic pelvic pain - something that I have experienced first-hand. I'm excited to share that Lasa Health has been accepted to Mayo Clinic Platform_Accelerate, a 30-week accelerator program that helps startups focus on validation and clinical readiness of their artificial intelligence-driven solutions in line with healthcare industry standards. We are excited to advance our work in leveraging AI and machine learning to improve care for patients with #endometriosis and other pelvic pain disorders.
