This is something that stays with them,” said Yesenia Mata, Executive Director of La Colmena, a nonprofit organization that provides job readiness training, legal assistance and other services to the immigrant community in Staten Island. “You can never bring down someone who feels proud of their community. Get ready for an inside look at our Annual Staff Retreat! 📸 La Colmena held our annual Staff Retreat last week to provide additional training for our staff, as well as a fun team building opportunity. This week, we’re sharing photos capturing the energy and teamwork during our planning sessions. Thanks to Kara Campbell from Coro New York Leadership Center who led an informative workshop on mindfulness. Also, a big shout out to Community Health Action of Staten Island Harm Reduction Team for facilitating a Naloxone (Narcan) training and to New York City Fire Department for facilitating a CPR training. It didn’t stop there! What did we do? ⏰Reflected on our FY24 achievements. 🧑🏽💻Planned and set goals for our FY25. 💡Explored new and exciting possibilities. 🗣️Discussed our challenges, shared insights and ideas. 👥 Strengthened our bonds.
