A sneak peek of a new tool we're building. Still in the proof of concept stage. There are two traffic flows in this environment. They're identical - the traffic is mirrored to both voting-app versions v1 and v2. v2 is an early dev version. It communicates with a proxy overlay before it hits redis, preventing data corruption. v1 is a stable version - imagine staging, or production if you're bold. It communicates directly with redis. The proxy makes sure that the dev version can read from the redis store, but can not write to it. Writes are isolated to the proxy overlay session only, and replayed when v2 needs to read. We've achieved environmental isolation for development workflows without needing to create new environments. This will improve parity between development and production environments, enable faster safer shipping, and reduce duplication of resources across pre-prod environments. Building developer tools for modern backend engineers.
About us
Kurtosis Technologies is writing the next chapter in the history of software development through innovative new approaches to environment management. Our first tool (https://github.com/kurtosis-tech/kurtosis) enables developers to encapsulate the deployment logic for a containerized application, optimized for handling dynamic set-up logic and passing data between containers as the application starts. This tool has proven to be most useful for blockchain systems, where some of the largest players in the space including the Ethereum Foundation use it to test the deepest, most complicated protocol changes. We are now working on Kardinal (https://kardinal.dev), a novel approach to environment management with the goal of maximizing proximity to the production environment throughout the software development lifecycle.

We're excited to announce that Kurtosis is now fully open-source under the Apache 2.0 license! While building cutting-edge tooling across some of the most complex distributed systems in web3, the community has driven the most exciting growth and innovation around our product. We wanted to fully enable that development instead of hindering it. We'll be sharing more details soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions feel free to reach out on our channels!
