We're thrilled to share further a recent news of Recyclass: Kuraray’s ‘PE/EVOH barrier with PE-g-MAH’ technology has received recyclability approval by RecyClass! The discovery: RecyClass PO films Technical Committee has conducted research on the technology ‘PE/EVOH barrier with PE-g-MAH’ by Kuraray. Based on their findings, RecyClass concludes that ‘PE/EVOH barrier with PE-g-MAH’ technology by Kuraray as per current market conditions and knowledge, is fully compatible with the existing European industrial recycling processes for PE flexibles. The technology: an LDPE-based film containing EVOH as inner layer and PE-g-MAH tie layers. The EVOH represents 5.7 wt% of the total film weight, with a tie layer: EVOH ratio corresponding to 1.5. The detailed conditions can be found on the Recyclass website. Read the Full Approval Letter Here: https://lnkd.in/dUBuT7tt Together, we're paving the way for a circular economy and reducing the environmental footprint of barrier packaging materials. #RecycleWithEVAL #SustainabilityInAction #CircularEconomy #Recyclass #SustainableSeptember

TPU (also known as thermoplastic polyurethane) is used in products from medical tubes to shoe soles to smartphone cases. But when a TPU needs to be soft, manufacturers often rely on a plasticizer, which isn’t always ideal. Kuraray recently innovated a new MPD sebacate solution – P-XX50 series – that not only achieves the desired softness level, but also contributes to sustainability. The product caught the eye of Rubber World, which featured P-XX50 in its September issue. Hoan Tran, market development manager for our isoprene chemicals and elastomers business unit, recently published this high-level overview of this new innovative product solution. #SustainableMaterials #BioBasedPolymers #TPUTechnology

#Kuraray recently unveiled new bio-based, polyester polyols – P-XX50 series – which can be used in place of a plasticizer to soften thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) thus eliminating potential negative environmental, health or performance effects, due to leach out. Having both unique performance attributes and being bio-based, it offers manufacturers a sustainable solution. I drafted a brief, high-level article to showcase this new innovative product for you. Read it below. #TPUTechnology #SustainableMaterials #BioBasedPolymers
