De eerste onderzoeksresultaten worden verwacht in oktober 2024, rond de officiële heropening van de reactor. 📰 Persbericht in het Nederlands https://lnkd.in/eXTCzNX2 Verbetering instrumenten en infrastructuur De afgelopen jaren zijn er een aantal verbeteringen doorgevoerd: er is een koude neutronenbron geïnstalleerd, samen met de verbetering van bestaande instrumenten en de ontwikkeling van nieuwe instrumenten.  Dit unieke project is uitgevoerd met een toegewijde groep medewerkers en een aantal onderaannemers, waaronder: Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute | KAERI, Korea, die verantwoordelijk was voor het ontwerp en de fabricage van de eigenlijke koude neutronenbron. Bilfinger (Duitsland) zorgde voor de installatie van de koude neutronenbron. Strukton Infratechnieken, Nederland, was verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp en de bouw van de benodigde utiliteitssystemen. Andere aannemers die deel uitmaakten van het project Strukton, Stirling Cryogenics Nederland, Demaco Holland bv Nederland, Yokogawa, Kreber, Stork, Royal HaskoningDHV, Arcadis, Lloyds/ LRQA, NRG en Combigas B.V.. English Faster and better research on #materials using #neutrons with applications for #cancer diagnosis and treatment, #energytransition, #food with the commissioning of the cold neutron source and the improved instruments at our research reactor! The first results of research are expected in October 2024, around the official reopening of the reactor. Improvement instruments and infrastructure During the past years a number of improvements have been made: a cold neutron source has been installed, accompanied by the improvement of existing instruments and development of new instruments. This unique project has been done with a dedicated group of employees and a number of subcontractors amongst others: KHC/KAERI, Korea who were responsible for the design and fabrication of the actual cold neutron source. Billfinger- Germany took care of the installation of the cold neutron source. Strukton, Netherlands were in charge of design and construction of the necessary utility systems.
