Thank you, Arizona State University and Arizona Public Service - APS, for the opportunity to attend the Flinn Centennial Lecture celebrating the 60th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s visit to ASU! 💛 It was a night filled with live music, fellowship, and shared purpose. The evening began with a community reception and ended with a keynote speech from MLK Jr.’s youngest daughter and indomitable thought leader, Dr. Bernice King. Events like this are a poignant reminder that the fight to end homelessness is a fight for civil and basic human rights. With the spirit of community that permeated through the halls that night, we’re as confident as ever that our beloved Phoenix community has the grit, determination, and compassion to succeed – working together, ending homelessness. #EndHomelessness #KeysToChangeAZ #KeyCampus #CollaborationIsKey🔑

Using the Power of Collaboration to End Homelessness
About us
Keys to Change, formerly known as The Human Services Campus, opened its doors in November 2005. Our mission is "Using the Power of Collaboration to End Homelessness." Located just west of downtown Phoenix, nearly 1,000 individuals per day seek services at the Campus. As a place, 15 non-profit organizations work in collaboration on the Campus to assist each individual's unique requirements to end their homelessness. As a non-profit organization, in addition to overseeing partner collaboration and Campus operations, Keys to Change provides programs that directly serve clients. These programs include Client Intake and Assessment at the Brian Garcia Welcome Center (the "front door" to the campus), Reunification with Family, Post Office Services, Bag Storage and Navigation to Housing. Our staff creates a customized housing plan for each individual, and connects people to all of our partner services on the campus, including identification, physical, dental and mental healthcare, shelter services, meals, benefits, homeless court and employment. Over 2,000 individuals were connected to housing in the past year.

It’s time to start thinking about how near-freezing overnight temps are going to affect our unhoused neighbors. Our GIFT OF WARMTH campaign runs through February. 🍂🍁🌂🌧 Despite a warm and arid climate, temperatures can drop below freezing at night during the winter in Phoenix, and it is frequently in the low 40s or mid-high 30s at night. 🌬 🧥🧤🧣 To schedule a donation drop-off or to learn how to set up your own donation drive with friends and co-workers, please contact Martin Roth in our Development department 📞 602-834-8732 or 💻 [email protected] and we'll help you coordinate! Still need to cast your vote? 🗳 Before you do, read through this thoughtful op-ed from Keys to Change Board Member, Chris Glover, in the Arizona Daily Star about why he’s urging voters to VOTE NO on AZ State Prop 312. ‘Perhaps the most glaring flaw in Prop 312 is that it does nothing to address the true causes of homelessness,’ says Chris. ‘Arizonans deserve better than Prop 312. We need real, long-term solutions that address the root causes of homelessness and public safety concerns.’ Read more 📰 👀 https://lnkd.in/gzX2VPP7 #EndHomelessness #KeysToChangeAZ #Vote #YourVoteIsYourVoice #Prop312

🍂 November is National Homelessness Awareness Month. 🏠 More than half a million people experience homelessness each night in the United States. In Arizona alone, the number of people experiencing homelessness has doubled since 2017. 💙 And while homelessness affects people of all ages and backgrounds, every story is unique. It's crucial to understand the root causes, amplify voices, and support those working to provide homes, resources, and hope. ---------- #homelessnessawarenessmonth #homeless #homelessness #arizona #awareness #housing #affordablehousing #attainablehousing #homelessnessawareness #housingforall #endhomelessness #advocacy #advocate #homes #hope #resources #support #community

Today marks the beginning of Trans Awareness Month! Did you know that transgender adults are among the fastest growing population of individuals experiencing homelessness? Specifically unsheltered homelessness. Now more than ever, it’s important for homelessness service providers to find intentionally inclusive ways to invite our unhoused trans and gender non-conforming neighbors! Changes can be made at the policy level, for example, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 2016 Equal Access Rule, at a service delivery level, at a community partnership level, all the way down to our one-on-one interactions. At Key Campus, all 14 organizations are, in one way or another, devoted to ending homelessness. We take a holistic approach. From intake and counseling, to housing and meals, to resume building and help job hunting , to dental services and even family reunification. The reason Key Campus is so groundbreaking is because these organizations coordinate, communicate and cooperate. Keys to Change CEO, Amy Schwabenlender, calls it a "Collaborative Force" and there isn't anything else like it in AZ. We would be honored to have you join us for our 20th annual fundraising event. The Mike McQuaid I AM HOME Breakfast Friday, December 13th, 7:30am-9am Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗦 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡👇 https://lnkd.in/g89CQyMy This is our time to reach out to our community and to do something we love -- celebrate the success stories of clients who have benefited from the services offered here on the Campus. We look forward to seeing you! If you can't make it in person, but you'd still like to give, here's our donation link 👇 https://donorbox.org/hsc #EndHomelessness #BeLikeMike #KeysToChangeAZ #KeyCampus #CollaborationIsKey🔑

What makes our Project Connect events so special is just that – the 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓷𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓼. It’s about the power of human connection to create a butterfly effect for positive change. Take for example, the day Judy* had at Project Connect in Avondale. When she arrived, Judy was greeted by a volunteer guest guide, who got to know her while assessing her to-do list for the day. Surrounded by a supportive community, Judy got a lot done! She was able to verify her place on a housing voucher list with a Keys to Change Behavioral Health Specialist. She connected with Keys to Change SOAR office to restart stalled paperwork for disability benefits. She picked out a new outfit, took a shower, and got a haircut. She ate a hot meal and received hygiene supplies and snacks for the road. We caught up with Judy at lunch. “I want people to see a softer face to being homeless. We’re all out here for so many reasons and we just want a better life and a place to sleep,” said Judy. “I want to help speak up for the people hanging on by their fingernails.” She was all smiles by the end of the day, ready to take the next steps with energy and optimism. She hugged her guest guide goodbye, they exchanged a few more laughs, and Judy left the event feeling like a new person. That’s the power of human connection and the value in the collaborative model! 💛 Working together. Ending homelessness. #EndHomelessness #KeysToChangeAZ #KeyCampus #CollaborationIsKey🔑

Great news from our Key Campus partners, Homeless ID Project! 🤝 "After opening its "tele-MVD" office over a year ago, the Homeless ID Project moved into a bigger location on the same property near downtown Phoenix last week. Rick Mitchell with the nonprofit said the new space on Key Campus, where thousands of people experiencing homelessness access services every day, reflects their growth as demand remains high." We know how crucial this step is on the path to ending homelessness. We are so grateful for the work Homeless ID Project does for our clients. From registering for school, to applying for jobs...it ALL begins with an ID card. 💳 🙌 https://lnkd.in/guh-SBUS #EndHomelessness #KeysToChangeAZ #KeyCampus #CollaborationIsKey🔑

Thank you so much Valley of the Sun United Way & Salt River Project, for all you do for the community and for our clients at Key Campus! #EndHomelessness #CollaborationIsKey🔑
✨ We had a fantastic day of community impact with our partners at Salt River Project! 👕 The SRP Green Team came together to recycle t-shirts into dog toys for clients at Project Connect, a traveling event offering wrap-around services to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness hosted by our friends at Keys to Change. 📚 SRP's Content & Marketing and Creative Services teams put their artistic talents to work creating Book-in-a-Bag kits to inspire young readers at Tempe's Frank Elementary School. Thank you to SRP for an incredible day of giving back! 👏 👏
