    Imagine a workplace where every generation connects – that’s 'Bring Your Kids to Work Day' at Kendo!    We love mixing work and play, and this event is a shining example of how we embrace family values while having fun together. From creative activities to hands-on learning, 61 Kendo employees and their 80 guests had an unforgettable day building memories, connections, and maybe even recruiting some future Kendoites!   A big shout out to our Parents & Caregivers Employee Resource Group (P.A.C.K.), volunteers, and the DEI team for bringing this event to life.     At Kendo, we believe in the power of people across every dimension. Celebrating a diverse and inclusive workforce is not just a part of our identity – it's at the heart of our core values. In this spirit, we are proud to introduce “Kaleidoscope: Exploring Kendo”, a spotlight series designed to highlight Kendo employee stories. These diverse experiences are the mirrors in a kaleidoscope, reflecting unique and vibrant patterns from their lived experiences that inspire our culture and products. We’re excited to kick off the series in honor of Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month. Why do we use the term Latinx? “Latinx” is a flexible term that refers to diverse American communities with Latin American and Caribbean roots. “Latinx” is also a gender-neutral term used instead of Latino/Latina that comes from American-born Latinos/Latinas who want to foster inclusivity. We use “Latinx” in this same spirit, to include all who identify as part of this expansive group. This season is a reminder that identity is beautifully complex and should be celebrated in all its forms. In recognizing this diversity, we acknowledge the profound impact that Latinx individuals have had on shaping trends, pioneering products, and bringing unique perspectives that continue to enrich Kendo. From the bold lip combos influenced by Latin American women to innovative hair care solutions designed for a wide spectrum of textures - these contributions are invaluable.     Kendo’s Curiosity Day is aimed to help it’s employees around the globe learn, grow and stay curious. 🧠🤯   Our theme "Level Up – Evolving the Way We Work" aims to inspire employees to embrace new technology and activate new business practices through interactive workshops, eCourses, and a fun Kendo Trivia Game Show to explore our learnings from the day. Our jam-packed day was filled with workshops in the following topics: Meeting Essentials, OneNote, Change Leadership, and Which Tool When. Grateful to our learning partners at McGarity Consulting Group, InteraWorks and Learnit for sharing their expertise with us as they hosted various expert lead workshops on a variety of subjects ranging from Microsoft 365, Effective Meetings and Change Leadership.     “It’s not a Texas thing, is not a Black thing — it’s freedom for everybody.”  — Opal Lee, Grandmother of Juneteenth, Nobel Peace Prize Nominee    As Kendoites, we strive to tell untold stories because we believe by doing so, we create a place for everyone. People exist whether their stories are told or not—but when we celebrate these stories, we all benefit from the facets of beauty and inspiration that come to light.     On Tuesday, June 18th, Kendo employees and over 250 young Black professionals showed up and showed OUT at Kinfolx in Oakland, California, for our community-based Juneteenth event.     Powered by Toasted Life and Fenty Beauty, the Bay Area’s most talented professionals reclaimed their joy and uplifted Black businesses like Kinfolx. Attendees demonstrated with their presence and engagement that moments like these are essential for the well-being of the communities where we live, work, and play to thrive and prosper. This event was truly community-led, inspired by the RECLAIM theme and our Legacy ERG at Kendo which empowers our Black employees and fellow Employee Resource Groups.    Thank you, Toasted Life & Kinfolk for advocating for representation and preserving communal spaces.    A very special thank you to Adriana Muñoz Munoz, Coordinator, Global Marketing Campaigns, Fenty Beauty; Tyler Manley, Associate Global Brand Marketing Manager, Fenty Skin; Danielle Haynie (She/Her) Haynie and Courtney Wilkins, Legacy ERG Chairs, for their outstanding work in bringing this event to life. By virtue of being founded and headquartered in San Francisco – and the values we’ve been guided by from day one – Kendo is a thread of the rich history. Kendo participated in full force with our friends and family in the San Francisco PRIDE Parade. Here at Kendo we recognize and celebrate the full spectrum of identities and aim to create safe spaces, so everyone’s voice is heard.
