Our very own Slava Frayter joined the Better Satellite World podcast to speak about Kayhan Space and how we aim to make spacecraft management easier and safer.
Episode 2 of the "Movers in Our Orbit" Better Satellite World podcast series is live now! In this week's episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Slava Frayter, Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales at Kayhan Space. In this podcast series, we speak with friends of SSPI who recently made big executive moves. We’ll find out what they’re doing now and what they hope to achieve in their new roles in the industry. Listen in now: https://vist.ly/3cetw Before joining Kayhan Space in May 2024, Slava served as the Vice President for North America at Gilat Satellite Networks. In this role, he oversaw all company operations in North America, managed the regional team, and developed and executed growth strategies across various markets, including cellular backhaul, enterprise, mobility, and government sectors.

Here's a Molniya orbit visualized on Satcat.com! A Molniya orbit is a highly eccentric orbit that enables satellites to spend most of their time over high latitude areas, such as Canada and Russia. Unlike Geostationary (GEO) orbits, which stay fixed above a single longitude near the equator, Molniya orbits are ideal for providing better coverage to these high-latitude regions. In this video, we are showcasing both the well-recognized elliptical shape of the Molniya orbit in an inertial frame and the satellite's track as seen from an Earth-fixed observer's perspective. Try it yourself at www.satcat.com!

#WDYT about this satellite? Tianhui 5D (SATNO 60212) We can easily see an orbit change maneuver occurred between July 10th and July 14th on our maneuver detection plot in Satcat (https://lnkd.in/g9VWfSgf). With both Apogee and Perigee descending smoothly, there's a possibility that Tianhui 5D (SATNO 60212) asset may have electric propulsion onboard. ⚡ Got any takes? Leave us a comment! #SpaceDomainAwareness #SpaceTrafficManagement #SpaceSituationalAwareness
