📣 Exciting news from Kapture 📣 We’re proud to announce Kapture has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with PERMAcast for carbon capture and storage trials to permanently sequester CO2 in concrete, with results to be announced in Q4 2024.
About us
Kapture has developed carbon capture technology that can directly capture CO2 emissions from the exhaust of combustion engines. Retrofitting carbon capture technology is the fastest way to make immediate emissions reductions, utilising existing energy systems means customers can rapidly deploy capture technologies, with cost benefits. The CO2 is sequestered in concrete which is an innovative approach to reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change. The process involves capturing carbon dioxide and permanently embedding it within the concrete during its production. This method not only prevents the release of CO2 into the atmosphere but also reduces the carbon footprint of concrete, which is one of the most widely used and carbon-intensive materials globally.

Kapture's carbon capture technology was 3rd party validated at 45% CO2 capture in December 2023. Since then, Kapture has achieved a significant breakthrough by increasing CO2 capture from 45% to 99.5% in lab scale bench testing. By achieving these outstanding results Kapture has proven efficacy of our solvent for point source carbon capture. Kapture is now moving to scale up of the hardware for demo pilot testing on a 30 kVA diesel generator.

We're thrilled to announce the appointment of Jacob Youngert as Co-Founder/Chief Technology Officer of Kapture. Prior to joining Kapture Jake held a leadership role at Remora, a carbon capture company in the US. Jake’s role as Director of Mechanical Engineering involved leading the development of the mobile carbon capture device at Remora. Jake has extensive experience developing HVAC, mechanical and fluid systems and served in the United States Navy for six years as a nuclear power plant supervisor onboard the USS Ohio (SSGN 726). Jake spent 9 years in the pharmaceutical industry developing equipment and facilities for novel and highly potent drug product/container configurations. Jake graduated first in his class at the Naval Nuclear Power Program and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota.
