Last week Jeff Schmid, our president and CEO, visited our Denver Branch, which serves as the Federal Reserve's connection to Colorado, northern New Mexico and Wyoming. While there Jeff took some opportunities to engage with local communities. He visited the University of Colorado Boulder campus to meet with students and administrators of the Graduate School of Banking. Another highlight was his visit to Mercy Housing's The Rose on Colfax, along with Nicholas Sly, our Denver Branch executive, and other staff. The Rose on Colfax is a housing development that will provide affordable, service-rich apartments to low-income households. Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City reposted this
Latest Beige Book report from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City: Hiring activity slowed as many businesses pulled back on new job postings, but employment levels were generally stable. Ongoing tightness in labor markets across the region supported modest growth in wages over the past couple of months. Rent growth slowed somewhat, driven by outsized growth in the supply of newly built units coming available across the District compared to other areas of the country.
