Our course for activity directors is virtual! This training is offered monthly and is available 24/7 to the student. The activity director course has been approved by the OIG and graduates of the course will have met the Kentucky state requirements to be an activity director and receive their Certificate of Attendance. Join Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF)/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) for Methods of Instruction Nurse Aide Training in August! This train-the-trainer course will we held in-person. The course will help prepare eligible nurses to become instructors for the Medicaid Nurse Aide Training Program. It will provide classroom and demonstration experiences to assist the nurse in becoming a better teacher of nurse aides. The course will cover philosophy, course preparation, learning styles of students, areas of knowledge, performance and training techniques, use of lesson plans, instructional methods, and use of instructional aids. There will also be an in-depth discussion of how to use the nurse aide curriculum developed by the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services. Additional information includes a review of laws, regulations and procedures necessary to conduct a training course in Kentucky. Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF)/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) staff made our fifth and final stop recognizing the recipients of the 2024 Silver — Achievement in Quality Award from AHCA/NCAL this afternoon during a visit to Westport Place Health Campus! Everyone was in great spirits despite the heat, and it was an honor to meet so many amazing individuals in long term care. Congratulations to all on this monumental accomplishment!
