Kadlec Regional Medical Center received the 2023 Donation Innovation Award from LifeCenter Northwest. The Donation Innovation Award is presented annually to one hospital that has demonstrated a commitment to careful evaluation of their organ donation processes and has taken specific steps to improve outcomes through innovative quality improvement initiatives. “Donation isn’t possible without the support of committed, skilled hospital partners like the team at Kadlec Regional Medical Center,” says LifeCenter Northwest President and CEO, Santokh Gill. “This partnership saves lives and gives hope to the thousands of people still on the transplant waiting list in our local communities.” #TeamKadlec

Soma Nandy works as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a Telemetry Technician. This month marks 25 years of service for Soma. When asked about her experience over the last 25 years as a Kadlec caregiver, she shared one of her most memorable moments: "One of the most memorable interactions I had at Kadlec was during the winter of 2016. The snow that year had been particularly bad, and my car had gotten stuck in the snow at Kadlec’s parking lot. There was no one around that late to help get my car out of the snow except this one woman nearby. The woman came out of her truck and immediately offered to help me. After she helped me clean around my car, I went to say thank you. But before I could, the women actually thanked me. She said “I don’t know if you remember me, but I will always remember you”. She told me that 15 years ago, I had taken care of her mother during her stay at Kadlec. She remembered how uplifting my smile was and mentioned how grateful she was for the genuineness that I showed her family. I was taken aback. I had no idea that she had remembered me after all these years. She even remembered that I was ready to give birth my first child that time. When I asked how her mother was doing, she replied “it’s actually her 100th birthday on this very day”. That small interaction, I always carry with me. The impact we can make on those we care for is so immense." We are grateful for the impact Soma has had on not just this patient, but so many more. Thank you, Soma, for living Kadlec's Mission! ❤️ #TeamKadlec #YearsofService #celebration #ThankYou
