HEALTH INEQUITIES. The disparities in breast cancer are deeply concerning. Black women are disproportionately affected, facing the highest breast cancer death rates, while non-Hispanic Asian or Pacific Islander women experience the lowest rates. Shockingly, black women have a 41 percent higher death rate from breast cancer compared to white women. These disparities are influenced by social determinants of health, such as housing stability, racism, and access to quality education. Elevating our health partnership is crucial to addressing these disparities and improving the quality of care for all. #ElevateHer #womenshealthmatters #EquityInHealth #healthjustice #Maryland #mammogram

About us
Our Mission is to improve the quality of life for impoverished single parents with sustainable resources, that are needed to become economically self-sufficient and to improve their overall health and educational outcomes for themselves and their children. We envision, where all women who head-up their households alone as a single parent, will be able to have access to economic stability through equitable wages, where the family can be empowered to help themselves towards self-sufficiency and thrive.

MATERNAL HEALTH AWARENESS Did you know, that in the U.S. we are experiencing a maternal health crisis, with high rates of pregnancy-related complications and deaths? In 2022, the maternal mortality rate in the U.S. was 22.3 deaths per 100,000 live births, which is higher than other high-income countries. This rate is especially high for Black women, Native women, and women in rural areas, who experience maternal mortality and morbidity at much higher rates than white and urban women. The Maternal health well-being of an expecting mom is important because it can improve the overall health and well-being of both the mother and the child and have economic and social benefits. SCHOOL BUS SAFETY. School bus safety is important because school buses are one of the safest ways to transport children to school. Tips for school bus safety: ➡ Stop when a school bus has its flashing red lights and stop-arm extended. ➡ Students should arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes before the scheduled pick-up time and stay at least six feet from the curb. ➡ Students should not run around or play at the bus stop, and they should never walk behind a bus. ➡ When crossing the street, students should walk in front of the bus, use the crosswalk, and make eye contact with the driver. ➡ Once on the bus, students should stay in their seats, use seat belts if they are available, and keep their belongings with them. ➡ Students should avoid putting their head or arms out of open windows and should not stand up while the bus is moving. POVERTY ALLEVIATION Recognizing and addressing the unique challenges faced by underserved, marginalized families, individuals, women and children, is essential for promoting, equity, inclusivity, and social & economic justice. There are current structures in place that perpetuate their marginalization, and our goal is to eliminate and reduce barriers, that will create a path for access to opportunities.
