⏰Time To Register: Oct 31 Webinar While many citizens see jail as a place where accused and convicted lawbreakers are housed in modern facilities under the watchful eyes of corrections officers, there are dynamics behind the scenes. Jail populations are a potpourri of people with varying criminal backgrounds, health issues, ages, and behavioral issues. Some are young, some are old, some are suffering from mental disorders and some pose management problems. Corrections is a people profession; we have to keep safe inmates in our care. They are our responsibility-like it or not. Thanks to studies and data collected during the past several decades, we are continuing to learn about offenders and their problems. This two-part online seminar will discuss several key special populations in jail: the young, the old, LQTBQ offenders, medical issues, mental health issues and special housing. Join us on Oct 31 when Gary Cornelius returns to share Part 1 of this 2 part series. Part 1 will discuss the problem of age and the jail offender. As courts become tougher on offenders, some grow old while incarcerated. Some commit crimes as younger individuals and receive long sentences. The medical and behavioral issues associated with aging must be addressed by the jail staff. Also, some inmates enter incarceration at a youthful age; many have juvenile records. Some are immature and defy authority, Part 1 will discuss how to manage these individuals, maintain custody, and keep staff and other inmates safe. By attending this two-part online seminar, the corrections officer will: ✔️Gain an understanding of the scope of special populations in our nation’s jails. ✔️Identify issues and problems in each group. ✔️Learn ways to safely manage special populations and avoid mistakes that can result in lawsuits against jail staff. 👉Click Here to Register for this live webinar event: https://lnkd.in/gRA3AkBz #corrections #jails #populationmanagement #inmates #elderly

⏰TIME TO REGISTER: Oct 28 Webinar The dreaded “B” word is enough to make most roll their eyes in exasperation. Many say personal budgets are “too restrictive,” or “don’t work” because they’re too hard to stick to. If you’ve ever felt this way about creating and sticking to a budget, you’ve probably been doing it wrong. In truth, a budget is simply a plan for HOW to spend/save/invest your money and when we approach our money without a plan, we are setting ourselves up for failure. A budget should help guide you on purchasing decisions and redirect your focus to the goals you have in place. Your budget will tell a story of what you’re doing right, and what you need to adjust moving forward. It is simply a tool for you to maximize each paycheck and find balance between your financial obligations, saving for your future, and having fun in the present. And we all know that first responders NEED to have fun with their money. In this presentation, Rebecca Jameson will share how to bulletproof your budget with these five steps: ✔️Creating Your Budget Structure ✔️Frequency & Projection ✔️What Are You Saving For? ✔️Recognizing & Overcoming Spending Pitfalls ✔️How to Prioritize FUN 👉Click Here to Register for this Webinar Event: https://lnkd.in/gh_Y5yQZ #budgetting #personalbudget #moneymanagement #criminaljustice #publicsafety
