The Junior Achievement of Greater Washington team was thriving in Kansas City last week at the 2024 Junior Achievement USA National Leadership Conference! It was an amazing time filled with inspiring discussions on how we can scale for greater success. A highlight for us was hearing from our very own Monica Goldson, Ed. D., Superintendent in Residence at 3DE National and Retired CEO of Prince George's County Public Schools. She provided valuable insights on what matters most for educators and how to engage them more effectively. Our team also enjoyed some fun and bonding time, with moments of joy and laughter—including dancing pandas and singing unicorns! We’re grateful to be part of the JA USA family. #Leadership #Education #JAUSA #ConferenceHighlights #TeamBonding #ScalingSuccess

We’re excited to welcome Kevin P. Smithson as the new Chair of our Board of Directors! After joining our board in 2022, Kevin quickly dove into all things JA and has brought energy, enthusiasm, and great ideas to all we do. He has already shown his leadership chops as our 2023 Washington Business Hall of Fame Event Chair, where he led us in creating a new fundraising record and an all-around outstanding event. As the Managing Partner of PwC’s Washington DC office, Kevin has become an indelible part of our Greater Washington community. His big-picture thinking combined with his roll-up-his-sleeves attitude have led him to make a significant positive impact in our region in areas from health and education to arts and culture. We’re thrilled to have Kevin’s vision, commitment, and tenacity at the helm of our Board. Thank you, Kevin, for all you do for JA!
