DEVYN HUBBARD made up for the academic stagger when she left Boudreaux Elementary's Spanish Immersion program after 6th grade to further her studies at Thomas Jefferson Academy. She felt like she was a year behind but worked diligently to improve to her current honor roll status. Devyn has participated on her school’s Varsity Soccer & Track team for the last 3 years. She missed summer volleyball training to pursue TRACK at the AAU Junior Olympics (for the 2nd consecutive year) and quickly earned a Varsity role on that team too. No stranger to community service, Devyn also serves as a Teacher's Aid in Children's church every 1st Sunday of the month at her church. Thus, she has 989 hours documented and hasn't even completed her freshman year. This sweet little girl gives of her free time to care for dogs at the animal shelter and takes the dogs home for a respite; giving them an opportunity to be in a loving home, be taken out for regular walks, and to get away from the loneliness of the kennel. Devyn makes time to care for these dogs whenever she is on holiday. She is passionate and intentional about the care of the big dogs who have been in the kennel for a while or are less likely to be adopted. KEEP SHINING, DEVYN! Thank you Rodney Lyons, State Representative Dist. 87 and Tea Time Etiquette Foundation for spotlighting JP Schools students! 💙 #REPOST #JPSchools #StudentSpotlight #YouthHallOfFame #CommunityPartner #ThomasJefferson #HighSchool #JaguarPride #ChooseJPSchools #SupportJPSchools

🎊 Congratulations to Charity Dicken of Patrick F. Taylor Science & Technology Academy for her outstanding achievement, placing 1st in the Military Child Education Coalition® | MCEC® Call for the Arts competition for her piece titled “Cuddys.” Her ongoing display of artistic talent is truly inspiring! Charity’s artistic talents shine brightly, and we eagerly anticipate the beauty she will continue to create in the future. “Both my grandfathers served in the Navy. I live in New Orleans and my favorite place to visit in my free time is The National WWII Museum. Visiting the WWII Museum always inspires me to come home and draw things that interest me, so with that I chose to do a piece on Susan Ahn Cuddy with her brothers that also served in WWII.” -Charity Dicken We are #JPSchoolsProud! 💙 #JPSchools #HighSchool #StudentArt #ArtContest #winner #MCEC #CallForTheArts #Competition #WWII #PFTSTA #ChooseJPSchools #TigerPride

Ivan Bustamante, a member of Bonnabel High School’s Class of 2024, graduated with great enthusiasm after achieving all his high school goals. Throughout his time at Bonnabel, Ivan dedicated himself to playing tuba in the school’s band. This experience allowed him to travel across the country and perform alongside various other bands, creating lasting friendships with like-minded peers. Ivan cherishes his fondest high school memories of participating in his final parade and concert. His hard work and commitment to his musical craft have earned him a scholarship to pursue Music Technology at @Jackson State University, with a minor in Computer Science. Ivan expresses deep gratitude to his family, girlfriend, and friends for their unwavering support during his high school journey. “Maintain consistency with your craft; never skip a day just because you're not in the mood. Each day offers opportunities for improvement.” -Ivan Bustamante #JPSchools #HighSchool #Graduate #ClassOf2024 #FutureLeaders #ChooseJPSchools #BuildingBrightFutures #Bonnabel #BigBruinEnergy
