At #JPSHealthNetwork, we proudly celebrate the diverse heritage of our team members, patients, and community. Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month allows us to honor the rich history and contributions of Hispanic individuals in our community. "Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is very meaningful to me. I take pride in seeing our culture embraced and diversity celebrated at JPS. My heritage and traditions are deeply rooted in who I am, and I am truly proud of them. It feels wonderful to have my heritage acknowledged, and I am grateful for the opportunities provided for Latinos at JPS. I know our patients are delighted to see such diversity among the staff." – Maria Trevino, Staff Assistant, Transportation

Nurse Practitioner Jennifer Allard serves the patients of Medical Home True Worth with such passion, and her dream of providing high-quality care to individuals who may not have access to it is what led her to JPS. “Here at True Worth, we have the opportunity to offer a variety of services to individuals who are experiencing homelessness. We address their unique needs by providing support for behavioral health, social concerns, and housing issues,” Allard said. “As one of the three primary care providers working on the clinical side, I can make a difference in healthcare alongside our team.” While Allard has been part of the JPS True Worth team for five years, her connection with JPS began even earlier. She recalled a time when her mother, who worked for a small employer without health insurance benefits, faced challenges in accessing medical care. Ten years ago, her mother suffered a life-threatening injury and she turned to JPS for help. “JPS saved her life,” Allard said. “At that time, I didn't know I would be working at JPS a few years later. I was looking for a transition to a new job and heard from a few of my colleagues that JPS was hiring. The very first job that was available was at Medical Home True Worth. When I read more about it, I was like, ‘Wow, this is amazing! This is a clinic that provides services to people experiencing homelessness.’ That particular population had always interested me.” Allard quickly fell in love with the culture at JPS. She saw everyone as part of the team because they had one big thing in common - they loved what they did. When someone loves what they do, it broadens the impact on everyone, especially the patients. "It is such an amazing place to work," Allard said. "Everyone is so creative in coming up with ways to address the unique needs of the patients. This is why patients stick around for years and years when they move beyond homelessness. It is also why the employees stick around. It's such a cohesive group of people who really love what they do, even when it's hard. That is why I love JPS."
